Our team

The people in your home, carefully chosen.

Letting someone new support your family member is a big step. Here’s how we make sure every Soar Direct Support Professional has earned that trust.

Who supports you

Mentors, role models, and dependable professionals.

Our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are chosen for more than a résumé. We look for people who are reliable, patient, and genuinely good at building rapport with young adults: the kind of person who encourages independence while keeping safety first.

  1. Application & interview

Every candidate completes a formal application and an in-person interview focused on values, judgment, and experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  2. Background checks & clearances

Pennsylvania State Police criminal record check, FBI fingerprint check, and Child Abuse (ChildLine) clearance, completed prior to employment.

  3. References & verification

We verify employment history and speak with references to confirm a track record of dependable, respectful care.

  4. Training & certification

Continuous training is encouraged following onboarding to support ongoing professional growth and the delivery of high-quality, person-centered services.

  5. Ongoing supervision

DSPs are backed by supervisors, regular check-ins, and clear support plans, so quality stays consistent over time.
